The Time of My Lord's Favor (Isa 61:2)
By Garry Bloom © 2014 (written in 2010)

(Chorus)
The time of my Lord's favor
Will come as He promised.
His gracious favor is all I need
To bring His blessing to me.
--
I've been waiting so long, and
I wait knowing the answer will come.
How long, O Lord, will it take
To see your promise fulfilled?

(Chorus)
The time of my Lord's favor
Will come as He promised.
His gracious favor is all I need
To bring His blessing to me.
--
It seems so silent sometimes,
When my prayer was said so long ago.
Will you forget and not hear me now?
Or grace me with your perfect answer.

(Chorus)
The time of my Lord's favor
Will come as He promised.
His gracious favor is all I need
To bring His blessing to me.
--
Who has waited as long as me?
Have I been forgotten by Him?
Will He remember my prayer,
And send an answer for me?

(Chorus)
The time of my Lord's favor
Will come as He promised.
His gracious favor is all I need
To bring His blessing to me.

In January 2009, my wife had brain surgery for a rare disease
called Moyamoya. It is an incurable disease, which is managed
by surgery to graft arteries into the brain. Thanks be to God
for a successful recovery from surgery. My insurance coverage
was wonderful, and we incurred a much smaller debt than
anticipated. Her recovery was long and tedious, which was
difficult for both of us, but God was healing her.

In January of 2010, I was terminated from my job with no
warning that anything was wrong. It turned out that the
company was self-insured, and they reasoned that her medical
costs were too much of a liability. I had been laid off before,
and God had always brought me a new job rather quickly.
This time was different. I was out of work for 14 months, and
our house went into foreclosure. We paid our bills when we
could, and our debt was mounting rapidly. Finally, the mortgage
company told me I had 10 days to secure a job or they would
foreclose on our home.

It was during this difficult time that God gave me the words to
this song. On day 9, I received a job offer and God began to
slowly provide for us financially.
